Jomayra I. Torres ’10 is fifth-grade head teacher, Saturday Academy program coordinator, and Scholastic Reading Club coordinator at BelovED Community Charter School, a public charter school in Jersey City that enrolls more than 600 children in grades kindergarten through five.

In the final analysis, the purpose of a college education is to give students the wherewithal to thrive in the future—the exact nature of which is unknown to us all. We know that certain skills can quickly become obsolete.
