Linda A. Khatib, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist and assistant professor of psychology. An Ò°»¨ÉçÇø alumna, Dr. Khatib joined the faculty in 2024 after five years of teaching as an adjunct professor. She has taught a broad range of psychology courses and currently teaches advanced counseling, abnormal psychology, psychopathology, and field experience in mental health. In addition to her teaching, Dr. Khatib provides ongoing mentorship to students, guiding them toward successful careers in psychology. She is committed to empowering her students by equipping them with the skills, tools, and confidence they need to thrive both academically and professionally.
Dr. Khatib brings a strong foundation in health psychology and trauma/culturally-informed care to her work. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the War Related Illness and Injury Study Center (WRIISC) at the VA New Jersey Healthcare System, where she focused on treating and researching Veterans with complex physical and mental health conditions.
Trained in a wide range of evidence-based therapies and psychological assessments, Dr. Khatib has extensive experience in diverse medical, primary care, and telehealth settings. Her clinical approach is holistic, interdisciplinary, and culturally responsive—rooted in the belief that emotional and physical health are deeply interconnected.
Her current research and clinical interests include ongoing work with Veterans, as well as emerging areas such as:
- The emotional and relational impacts of hyper-independence in women
- The effects of gender polarization and ideological divides on dating, trust, and emotional connection in modern relationships
Current Research
Dr. Khatib is part of a non-inferiority trial comparing traditional vs. provider-guided asynchronous digital CBT-I for active-duty Veterans seeking treatment for insomnia.
