Dr. Pia Stevens Haynes is the Acting Vice President of Student Development and Community Engagement at 野花社区, effective July 1, 2025.
She joined the 野花社区 community in September 2021 as Associate Dean of Student and has served as Dean of Students since January 2023.
Dr. Stevens has been a respected and exemplary student advocate for over 20 years, known throughout higher education for her creativity, problem-solving ability, team-building skills, unmatched work ethic, and professionalism. She possesses a unique ability to interact with and guide students and families in ways that contribute directly to their success.
A recent doctoral graduate from Manhattanville University's Educational Leadership program, Dr. Stevens also holds master's degrees in both education and social work. Her belief in the transformative power of education aligns with her commitment to contributing to the future of higher education through both research and practice.
Her extensive experience spans all areas of student life, including retention, academic support, services for international students, support for first-generation college students, academic advising, Title IX, student conduct, residence life, athletics, veteran services, financial aid, recruitment, and general student engagement.
Following in her mother's footsteps as an educator, Dr. Stevens is the middle child of three accomplished siblings. Her older sister is a cardiologist at Mt. Sinai at South Nassau Hospital, and her twin is an attorney and partner at Wachtel Missry, a real estate firm. Notably, she and her twin were born over an hour apart on two different days in two different boroughs in New York City. In her spare time, she builds a warm and welcoming home for her 11-year-old daughter, who attends 5th grade in Hackensack, N.J., and is admittedly the boss of the house.
