  • Presenting expectations that are appropriate to the child鈥檚 age and developmental level
  • Planning and implementing activities that develop self-esteem, confidence and social skills
  • Communicating appropriately and professionally with children, parents and fellow staff using Academy tools and resources
  • Meeting Kiddie Academy's Quality Assurance and NJ state licensing requirements

Co-Teachers work along with the Lead Teachers to ensure compliance with Kiddie Academy's industry-leading Quality Assurance standards. Most importantly, they create a positive learning environment in their classroom where children develop a lifelong love of learning!

Co-Teacher Qualifications:

  • Bachelor鈥檚 / Associates / CDA degree in Education, Psychology, Health Care, Nursing, or any other field related to Growth and Development and 2 years of experience - preferred
  • Strong written and communication skills, ability to communicate with parents and build life-long relationships
  • Experience working in a educational day care facility - at least 2 year preferred

  • Experience working in a educational day care facility - at least 2 years preferred
  • A Bachelor鈥檚 degree or higher in Early Childhood Education and Development.
  • A Bachelor鈥檚 degree or higher in a related field, including 18 semester hours of completed coursework related to young children birth to age 8.
  • An Associate鈥檚 degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development or a related field.
  • An Associate鈥檚 degree or higher in a related field, including 18 semester hours of completed coursework related to young children birth to age 8.
  • A current CDA or Early Childhood Teaching Credential.

STEM Instructor 

Job Description: Bricks4Kidz (Jersey City-Bayonne franchise) is seeking after-school teachers for our innovative educational enrichment programs. Programs are 45-60 minute sessions at various locations between the hours of 3-5pm, Mon-Fri. Schedules are flexible. Ideal candidates will have teaching experience and/or enjoy working with young children, have a basic understanding of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, math), great organizational skills, and have reliable transportation within the Jersey City/Bayonne area. This is a great fit for college students as many of our teachers have been offered teaching jobs as a result. Background check and/or fingerprinting may be required. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct attendance and to report/research on those that are missing/late.
  • Educate students on the day's topic (wide-variety, STEAM based)
  • Ensure students are working together and to resolve conflicts
  • Work with co-instructors and school's permanent teachers as needed
  • Responsible for Bricks4Kidz materials and instructions.
  • Depending on the school, be accountable and responsible for the dismissal of the students (after care, parents/guardians)
     
During the school year, our programs occur after school.  This is ideal for students as the typical one-hour class complements their day.   Benefits include:
 
  • Real world experience working with students (for one hour).
  • Working at many schools (public, private, charter, church-based, etc.) provides different experiences
  • Some of our instructors have been hired at the schools that they taught
  • Pay--since it is one-hour, the rate is around $45/hr class.
